1. Introduction
Welcome to Snap Education ("Snap Education," "we," "us," or "our"). We are committed to protecting the privacy of the students, parents, guardians, and tutors who make up our community.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, hold, use, and disclose Personal Information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and any applicable state legislation in the jurisdictions in which we operate.
By visiting our website, enrolling in a tutoring program, engaging as a tutor, or using our booking and learning platforms, you consent to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with this Policy, please do not use our services.

We only collect information that is reasonably necessary for us to operate our tutoring business. What we collect depends on whether you are a student, a parent or guardian, a tutor, or a casual website visitor.
2.1 Identity and Contact Data
- Personal Details: Name, date of birth, and where applicable student identification details.
- Contact Information: Email address, phone number, and residential or billing address.
- Parent or Guardian Details: For students under 18, we collect the name and contact details of the parent or guardian who completes the enrolment and is responsible for payment.
- Tutor Details: For individuals engaged as tutors, we collect identity details, qualifications, Working with Children Check numbers, ABN details, and bank account information for invoicing purposes.
2.2 Academic and Session Data
- Schooling Details: Year level, school attended, and subjects being tutored.
- Session Records: Booking history, attendance, session notes, progress feedback, and any materials submitted for review.
- Platform Usage: Data on how the booking platform and learning portal are used, collected to improve scheduling and service delivery.
2.3 Financial and Payment Data
- Payment Information: Payments are processed through our third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on our own servers. We may retain a payment token, the card type, and expiry information to facilitate weekly instalment billing.
- Transaction History: Invoices, instalment schedules, and billing records.
- Tutor Payment Data: Bank details and ABN information for tutors engaged as independent contractors, used solely to pay invoices for services rendered.
- Direct Input: When you complete an enrolment form, book a session, submit a contractor application, or contact us directly.
- Automated Technologies: Cookies, server logs, and similar technologies used on our website and booking platform. See Section 10.
- Third Parties: Information may be received from schools, where authorised, or from referral partners.
We use information for the following primary purposes:
- Service Delivery: To schedule sessions, match students with tutors, and deliver tutoring services.
- Payment Processing: To calculate and collect weekly instalments for the total term fee, issue invoices, and manage tutor payments.
- Safety and Compliance: To verify tutor Working with Children Checks, maintain a safe learning environment, and meet our legal obligations.
- Service Improvement: To review aggregated, de-identified data to improve scheduling, curriculum, and platform performance.
4.1 Secondary Purposes (Marketing)
By enrolling in a Snap Education program, you acknowledge that:
- We may send you updates about new subjects, tutors, or programs. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails.
- We may request your permission to use first names, general results, or testimonials in marketing materials. We will not do so without your specific, opt-in consent, and you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us in writing.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to:
- Service Providers: IT hosting, cloud storage, email delivery, and customer support platforms that support our operations.
- Payment Processor: Our payment processor, to facilitate weekly instalment billing and tutor payouts.
- Tutors (as Independent Contractors): Tutors receive the student information reasonably necessary to deliver a booked session, such as subject, year level, and session notes. Tutors are contractually bound to keep this information confidential and to use it only to perform the booked services. See our Terms of Service, Schedule B.
- Legal and Regulatory Bodies: Where required by law, or to report safety concerns to the relevant child protection authority.
6. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Where our service providers, including our payment processor and cloud hosting providers, operate or store data overseas, your information may be processed outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps, including Data Processing Agreements with providers, to ensure your information continues to be handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP 8).
7. Children's Privacy
Snap Education takes the safety of children seriously.
- Parental Consent: For students under 18, enrolment must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who accepts responsibility for the account.
- No Third-Party Advertising Profiling: We do not build behavioural advertising profiles of users known to be minors. Analytics relating to minors are used strictly for service delivery and improvement.
- Data Minimisation: We collect only the information necessary to deliver tutoring services to the student.
8. Images and Testimonials
- We will not use a student's photo, video, or testimonial in public marketing without specific, written, opt-in consent.
- Consent may be revoked at any time by written notice to us. We will remove the content from our digital channels within a reasonable period following revocation, noting that previously distributed printed material cannot be recalled.
9. Data Retention and Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, and restrict access to personal information to staff and contractors who require it to perform their role.
10. Cookies and Tracking
- Essential Cookies: Required for login sessions and secure payment processing.
- Analytics Cookies: Used to understand how our website and platform are used.
- You can manage or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records such as financial and safety records. We will respond to requests within 30 days.
