Every tutor scored 45 or above in the subject they teach. Years 5 to 12, in your home or online, from $70 a session.
We started Snap because we believe tutoring should be about more than getting a better mark. We care about helping students build confidence, understand what they are actually learning, and realise what they are capable of.
We are Julian and Nikita, both studying a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Melbourne; Anton, who attended the Qantas Group Pilot Academy; and Daniel, who is studying a Bachelor of Cybersecurity at La Trobe. Between us we have taken very different paths through school, university and further study, and we know that every student learns differently.
That is why we hold to proper one-to-one tutoring. It gives a tutor the time to genuinely know their student, work out where they are stuck, and adapt to how they learn best. Whether the goal is to pass, to reach a 45, or to get somewhere they never thought possible, we want every student to finish the year genuinely proud of their progress.

Every tutor’s statement of results is verified before their first session, and the score has to be in the subject they teach. A 48 in Chemistry does not qualify someone to teach English. We will show you any tutor’s score on request.
Then we interview them ourselves. A score gets you the interview, it does not get you the job. We are looking for someone who can explain a hard idea three different ways, who a fifteen year old will actually talk to, and who we would be comfortable putting in your living room. Plenty of people clear the score and do not clear that.
Scores like these come from a method, not from luck, and the method is what transfers. Most of our tutors finished school within the last three years, so the study design and the exam structure are still fresh.
One person, one weekly slot, from Year 5 through to the final exam if you want it. Progress in a subject comes from someone knowing where your child was last term, not from a fresh face each fortnight.
After every session the tutor files a note on our platform: what was covered, what was set, and what to work on next. Parents sign in and read it whenever they like. You never have to ask how it went, and you never have to rely on a teenager’s account of it.
The same standard at every year level, pitched to where the student actually is. Younger students are building the habits that make the senior years survivable; VCE students are working to a study design and an exam.
Maths and English fundamentals, and the study habits that make Year 7 easier.
Filling gaps before they compound, and preparing for subject selection.
Units 1–4, SAC preparation and exam technique, taught by tutors who sat the same course.
Plus primary and middle-years maths.
Text response, comparative, argument analysis, and primary literacy.
Units 1–4, with SAC prac work.
Units 1–4, problem sets weekly.
Units 1–4, exam-style short answer.
If we cannot match your subject to a tutor who cleared 45 in it, we will tell you rather than send a generalist.
Subject, year level, school and the times that suit. It takes about two minutes and we reply the same day.
A short call at no charge. We tell you who we are proposing, what they scored and why they suit, before you book anything.
A standing session each week for the rest of the year, or two or three a week if that is what the subject load calls for. Pause it in the holidays, cancel with a week’s notice, no lock-in contract.
Snap runs on our own learning platform, built for tutoring rather than borrowed from a school timetable system. Students, parents and tutors each get their own view of the same thing.

Your standing weekly slot, any reschedules, and the whole term ahead. No group chat, no chasing.
What was covered, what was set, and what to work on next. Filed against the session, not lost in an inbox.
SAC results and practice marks in one place, so improvement is something you can see rather than guess at.
Parents sign in with a magic link and see the notes and the schedule. No password to remember, nothing to install.
Priced in the middle of the Melbourne market, staffed at the top of it. Every tutor clears the same bar, so every tutor costs the same. No premium tutors, no negotiating over who you get, and a lower rate for Years 5 to 8.
The same tutor, the same slot, one payment instead of many. Weekly instalments stay available at the standard rate if that suits you better.
No membership, no booking fee, no admin charge.
Cancel or pause with a week’s notice. Never a minimum term.
The same rate across Melbourne, with no call-out fee and no distance loading.
A written note to parents after every session, at no extra cost.
Paid by bank transfer, either in weekly instalments or a semester up front. Switch between in person and online whenever it suits, with the same tutor in the same slot.
Every score below is verified against the tutor’s statement of results and kept on file. You are welcome to see it before you book.
A study score of 45 or above in the subject they teach, verified from their statement of results before they take a session. Our current roster sits between 45 and 49. We publish each tutor’s actual score rather than making a blanket claim, and you can ask to see the slip.
Because we would rather have the best teacher in the top two per cent than the best score in the state. A study score of 45 already puts someone in roughly the top two per cent of that subject, so the academic question is settled at that point. What is not settled is whether they can teach.
Holding out for 50s would mean a tiny pool and no ability to choose on anything else. Setting the bar at 45 in the matching subject lets us recruit from the top of the state and then pick the ones who are warm, patient and easy for a teenager to talk to. Every one of them also got through an interview, which is the part that decides whether they can actually teach.
From Year 5. Below that we usually refer you elsewhere rather than take work we are not built for. Primary sessions are taught by the same tutors, pitched to the student in front of them.
We sit in the middle of the Melbourne market on price and at the top of it on tutor quality. Agencies charging less are generally not screening on study score at all; agencies charging more are usually adding a membership or a premium-tutor tier. There is no joining fee here and no minimum term, so the rate you see is the rate you pay.
Ten dollars a session. Online sessions use a shared whiteboard so written working is visible to both sides, and the tutor is the same person either way. Many families run online during exam block and in person the rest of the year.
Yes. Pause any time with a week’s notice and your slot is held. Many families pause over Christmas and pick the same tutor back up in late January.
Every tutor is screened and verified by us before their first session, and we have a written child safety policy and code of conduct, available on request. Sessions run in your home or a public space, and the tutor files a session note afterwards, so nothing about the arrangement is unobserved.
Tell us who you are and what you need. We match you to a tutor who scored 45 or above in that subject and come back to you the same day, usually within a couple of hours. Nothing is charged until your first session, and you approve the tutor before anything is booked.
