Families paying for a full semester in advance receive a ten per cent discount. Otherwise fees are paid in weekly instalments by bank transfer. Sessions can be paused with a week's notice and the slot is held.
If we cannot match a subject to a tutor who scored 45 or above in it, we say so rather than send a generalist.
A VCE study score of 45 places a student in roughly the top two per cent of the state for that subject. Snap Education will not hire a tutor below 45 in the subject they intend to teach, and the score must be in that subject: a 48 in Chemistry does not qualify someone to teach English.
Every score is verified against the tutor's statement of results before their first session, and families can ask to see it. Each tutor is then interviewed by the founders. The score gets someone the interview; it does not get them the job.
The current roster sits between 45 and 49.
Four founders, two responsible for academics and tutoring, two for technology and operations. All four are contactable directly.

Tutors are engaged as independent contractors, not employees. Pay is per session delivered, in weekly instalments on a fixed day: $60 an in-person session and $50 online for Years 9 to 12, and $50 in person and $40 online for Years 5 to 8, the same rate whatever the subject.
Tutors choose which students they take and which times they work, and decide how each session runs. Snap finds the students, handles the matching, chases the payments and deals with the parents. Introducing a student or another tutor earns $50 once they have completed two sessions.
